About Miguel Oliveira
Born on January 4, 1995, Miguel Ângelo Falcão de Oliveira is a professional motorcycle racer from Portugal who represents Trackhouse Racing MotoGP in the MotoGP World Championship. He joined the team after being promoted from KTM Tech3, a satellite team, where he won both the team's and his first and second races.
Miguel Oliveira In the 2018 Moto2 World Championship, he came in second. Having competed for the Estrella Galicia 0,0 team in 2012, the Mahindra Racing team in 2013 and 2014, and finished runner-up with the Red Bull KTM Ajo team in 2015, he earned a great deal of expertise in Moto3. Oliveira became the first Portuguese rider to win a World Championship in the 2015 Italian Grand Prix.
When Miguel Oliveira was four years old, his father—a former motorcycle racer—gave him a quad bike. At the age of nine, he began competing in national championships. In the Portuguese MiniGP Championship in 2004, he took home the Young Promise of the Year title in Portugal. His first victories came in 2005 when he took home the titles at the Metrakit World Festival in Spain and the Portuguese MiniGP Championship. He achieved his previous triumph again in 2006, and he took home the Mediterranean PreGP 125 Trophy in 2007. He finished third in the Spanish championship in 2009 and faced off against Maverick Viñales for the title in 2010. He lost by two points in the end but advanced to become the first Portuguese rider to compete in the global championship on a full-time basis. He has since won races in each of the three divisions.
